My friend has cancer

I don't remember how old my friend was when she was first diagnosed, but she was pretty young. I think she was in her late twenties or early thirties. It was a long and stressful road, but she beat it. It was an aggressive form of breast cancer. She didn't have insurance. She's older now. She has insurance. Her attitude is different, or at least it was when she told me about it over the phone. I listened as she talked. I heard the confidence and the resolve in her voice. She didn't know much of anything other than it was back, but appointments were getting made and she will soon have more information. I don't pray, but I'm praying that she can beat this again. Recurrence is almost certain when you get it while you're young.

I understand medicine and biology better than the average bear (no pun) and I pledged my support to her. I know how I can help, so that's what I'm going to do. Treatments have really advanced since she was last diagnosed, particularly with immunotherapy. I want my friend to live. I love her so much.
