Listening on the way to school
As usual we look for a podcast on the way to school. We like listening to Heavyweight. It's truly one of the greatest podcasts ever. This one isn't titled with someone's name though. This one is titled Minneapolis. The image associated with the episode seals the deal. I really do not want to listen.
I think you're too young to know about these things. One of my jobs as a parent is to protect you, but you express to me that you want to know what's going on. This was after I explained the importance of being a commander of your own attention. You can know what's going on without allowing the what's-going-on to swallow you. You're sensitive like me, which is a double-edged sword.
So we listen. It's a tough listen. I'm on the verge of rage crying the entire time. We pause it as we reach school. I can't speak, but I whisper that I love you.
